Posh parlor, game room

Inspired by Hollywood glamor, designer Corey Damen Jenkins of Corey Damen Jenkins & Associates says he and his team mixed gold, silver, brass and chrome to create a posh, luxurious living room parlor. He and fellow designer Carrie Long of Carrie Long Interiors used a chevron wing chair, end table and lamp in the de Grimme Gallery (Suite 72). A black accent wall, framed with white molding, behind the sofa creates a sense of drama. “It feels like artwork,” says Jenkins. “We wanted to go really edgy with the black walls and you can still do that in a way that’s really chic with brighter furnishings.”

Long, meanwhile, created a playful game room vignette, “Colonel Mustard in the Den with a Candlestick,” with the game, Clue, at its center. Framed photos depicting each character are marked off with X’s, leaving Colonel Mustard as the big villain. Long says she wanted to create a space that was classic, sophisticated and tailored, but still fun and comfortable. “It’s a comfortable space, a space you’d just enjoy sitting and hanging out in — whether it’s talking or playing a game,” she says.
