Corey Damen Jenkins & Associates has recently debuted its new artwork collection as part of a licensed partnership with Leftbank Art. Mouths Wide Open is a provocative collection of lead and ink portraits that showcases the human mouth in its open state. Hand drawn by AD100 and ELLE Decor A-List designer Corey Damen Jenkins, the series features people of different races, religions, ethnicity, and age groups all unified by one physical common denominator: the mouths open–and the disparate emotions fueling the facial expressions. Jenkins drew the first portrait, “Enough”, nearly 14 years ago and has been adding new faces to the collection over time. Highlights include an Asian vocalist hitting a high octave (“Crescendo”), a Jewish Rabbi engaged in a heated argument (“The Great Debate”), a woman valiantly battling breast cancer (“I Will Survive This”), and many more. Whether grouped together, or hung individually, these artworks are sure to elicit strong reactions and lively conversations.
