Published in the May 2016 issue of Traditional Home Magazine, this 15,000 sq. ft. Michigan historic mansion underwent a gut renovation with CDJA guiding the entire development of the interior and exterior design. Much of the home’s original American Colonial Revival-style interior architecture was retained, duplicated or restored with care. Taking cues from the fashion runway stars like Elie Saab and Valentino, Jenkins presented the clients with a combination of bold hues and modern choices juxtaposed against a traditional backdrop. For example, a pair of midnight-blue Jimmy Choos provided the inspiration for the palette’s sapphire tones and the kitchen’s La Cornue range. Interiors were reenergized using other jewel tones and vibrant saturated colors like emerald and citron. The principal bedroom is a wonderland of fresh hues, thanks to a bold wallcovering selection.
